Parking
Patient and visitor parking is available in the
hospital.
Bring the list of your current medication along with
any special instructions.
If you are scheduled for a procedure on the day of
admission do not wear any jewelry, nail varnish or
make-up.

Valuables
Do not keep any valuables or jewelry in your room.
These will be handed over to your attendant after
admission.

General
Information
You will be able to make and receive calls in your
rooms. If you are unable to take calls, they can be
directed to the nurse's station on your floor.

Your Payment
If your bill is being paid by a health insurance
company or a corporate, you may still be required
to settle an additional bill on discharge for any
extras which are not covered by insurance e.g. telephone
calls, visitor's bills, drugs to take home, etc.
The MS will counsel you on tariff and packages before
admission. All patients are required to sign the hospital's
Financial Undertaking.

Medical
Insurance
The hospital has direct settlement arrangements for
in-patient with most health insurance companies and
TPA's. Your health insurance company can confirm if
your policy covers your treatment at Aakash. Please
bring your insurance card or necessary documents.
Should an account be rejected or not paid in full
by the insurers, you are personally liable for the
settlement of the unpaid bills. Fees for consultations
not specified in the claims form, prescription drugs
to take home and "non-medical" equipment
and accessories are not paid by insurance companies,
and you will be required to pay for these.

Sponsored
Account
If your bill is top be paid by an embassy or company
acting as a guarantor, you will be required to bring
the letter stating to whom and where the bill has
to be sent.

Own Account
If you are responsible for your own account, you
will be required to pay a deposit on admission, based
on the estimated length of stay and proposed treatment.
Should the length of stay be extended subsequently,
a further deposit will be required to keep the account
in credit. Full settlement of any outstanding balance
is required on discharge.
The hospital accepts, cash, major credit cards.

Room Amenities
You will be shown the various facilities in your
room e.g. telephone, nurse call system, bed controls,
television and heating/ventilation controls.
There is also ample wardrobe and drawer space for
your belongings. There is a list of useful telephone
numbers. You will also be able to order a complimentary
daily newspaper of your choice(on request).

Nursing
Care
While you receive treatment at Aakash Hospital,
you are likely to have a team of doctors and nurses
involved in your care. They will take your past medical
history, present condition, allergies/sensitivities
and current medication. Routine observations of temperature,
pulse and blood pressure will be recorded from time
to time.
Your planned treatment will be discussed with you
and you will be free to ask any questions you may
have

Medical
Care
Your medical care is your consultant's responsibility
and s/he will advise the hospital staff of any tests
and treatment you may require. Senior residents, who
will assist your consultant, provide medical care
around-the-clock.
Your consultant will discuss your treatment and procedure
details with you, and you will be asked to sign a
consent form for procedures and certain investigations.

Physiotherapy
Your consultant may recommend treatment by a physiotherapist.
This would be carried out in the department or in
your room.
|
Dietician
If your consultant advises a special diet, the hospital's
registered nutritionist will visit you to provide
nutritional care and education.

Telephone
Facilities
To make an outside call you need to dial '9', and
then ask the operator for the number you want. These
calls are billed to you.
Your extension number is the same as your room number
,prefix ‘2’.
Mobile phones should be switched off since they may
interfere with patient life support and drug monitoring
equipment.

Dietetic
Services
For patients there is a varied Therapeutic Menu
planned by the dietician/nutritionist in consultation
with you to suit your requirements.
Let the dietician know if you have a food allergy.
All meals are served in your room.
The meal timings are as follows:

Breakfast 7:45 - 8:30 am
Mid-morning 11:15 -11:30 am
Lunch 12:45 - 1:30 pm
Evening tea 4:00 - 4:30 pm
Evening soup 6:00 - 6:30 pm
Dinner 7:45 - 8:30 pm
You can also have your meals served at alternative
times.
Non-veg meals are prepared on request basis.
As a hospital infection prevention policy, homemade
food is not permitted in the hospital One attendant
will be served a pre-portioned veg/non-veg meal according
to their choice and will be charged.

Visitors
Visiting hours to the hospital are kept as open
and flexible as possible. Consistent with your need
for rest and quiet.
Visiting may be restricted by the Sister or Nurse-in-charge,
your Consultant, or at your own request.
